Tracing the reef evidence in Cambodia’s national assessment
A report published recently may summarise much older observations. Cambodia’s December 2025 national coastal assessment repeats Koh Seh reef measurements collected in 2019. It is a synthesis of existing evidence, not a second survey of those reefs.

A citation that needs care
The draft attributes the Koh Seh figures to “Pham et al., 2025”. Its reference links to the paper by Ith and colleagues in Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, volume 13, article 1644. The linked paper is used for the atlas’s reef findings. The two documents are not counted as independent evidence of reef condition. Draft reference list · Original paper and authors
Scope
This account examines the draft’s provenance and reef-source relationship. Its wider national estimates have not been used to create new atlas measurements. The national assessment and its annex remain valuable routes to the underlying sector reports.
