Koh Sdach yellow seahorse monitoring, 2014–2021
- Location
- Five sites around Koh Sdach
- Observation and publication dates
- December 2014–April 2021 observations; 2022 publication
- Evidence type
- peer-reviewed field study
Findings
- Five Koh Sdach sites were monitored during 2014–2021. Mean seahorse density was low (0.0008 ± 0.0001 individuals/m²); the authors found no significant temporal change in this dataset.
- Visits were irregular. A non-significant trend does not establish that the wider population is stable. Abstract p.48; methods pp.50–52.
How the evidence was collected
Five Koh Sdach sites were surveyed at irregular intervals between December 2014 and April 2021. Compare survey effort as well as sightings. The map currently shows the study area; individual visits and transects are not integrated.

What the evidence can tell us
Citizen-science diving effort varied through time. The published tables do not contain the complete dive log, limiting trend comparisons.
